Gulf Air is planning to begin flights to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on September 1.
The carrier is intending to implement a five times-weekly Bahrain-Baghdad service using Airbus A320 aircraft. Gulf Air says it plans to increase this service to daily ‘in the near future’.
Flight GF201 will depart Bahrain at 09.45 on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, arriving in Baghdad at 11.30. The return leg, GF200, will leave the Iraqi capital at 12.45 and land in Bahrain at 14.25.
The carrier also intends to launch flights to Najaf (around 160km south of Baghdad), and the northern city of Erbil by the end of September.
